What £2,700 covers
£2,700 sponsors one madrasah for the year September 2026 to September 2027. It covers:
- The teacher's wages for the year
- Rent for the classroom, where the madrasah needs one
- A uniform and books for every pupil
- A monthly incentive: €30 a month for the madrasah, which the teacher spends on treats for the children
- End-of-year exams, with prizes for the pupils
£225 covers one month. Sponsor the whole year as a family, a class or a masjid and the madrasah carries your name on its page. Give any amount and it goes to the madrasah being filled now, so nothing is spread thin.
Why these eleven
They are village madaris run through Rahma Mercy's programme in Albania: a local imam or teacher, a class in the mosque after school or at the weekend, and a simple curriculum the children can follow. Several reopened mosques that had stood empty for years; the newest, a girls' class in Shtoj i Ri, opened in April 2026.
The Madrasah Vali team visits all eleven on the October 2026 trip to hand over food packs and meet the teachers. Sponsorship keeps them open for the year that follows.
Reporting back
Every madrasah page carries its teacher's 2025–26 annual report and a link to its page on Rahma Mercy's site. Photographs from the October visit are added after the team returns, and the teachers' reports for the sponsored year follow in summer 2027.
Madrasah Food Packs
And a food pack for every pupil
Alongside sponsorship, one pot puts a food pack in each of the 211 pupils' hands four times in the year. £52 feeds one pupil's family for the year. Accepts Zakat.
