Privacy notice

This site is operated by Madrasah Vali (Blackburn) for the 1447/2026 Balkans Campaign. Funds raised on the campaign are transferred to Rahma Mercy (UK Charity #1097682), our delivery partner.

Data we collect

• Donation data: amount, project, donation type, dedication, display name, time.
• Contact data: email and phone (optional) so we can confirm your gift.
• Gift Aid data (if you opt in): title, full name, home address, postcode, taxpayer declaration. Required by HMRC for Gift Aid claims.
• Payment data: processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Privacy preferences: whether you want your name or amount visible on the donor wall.

How we use it

• To process your donation and email you a receipt.
• To display your gift on the public donor wall and leaderboard, subject to your privacy choices.
• To allow Rahma Mercy to claim Gift Aid via HMRC Charities Online (if you opted in).
• To report back on the campaign with project updates and photos.
• To meet our regulatory obligations as a UK charity partner.

Sharing

We share Gift Aid records with HMRC via Rahma Mercy. We do not sell your data, ever.

Retention

Gift Aid declarations and donation records are retained for at least 6 years after the end of the accounting period they relate to, as required by HMRC. Other personal data is retained only while needed to administer the campaign and report back.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (subject to our retention obligations) by emailing info@madrasahvali.com.

Cookies & analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, which is cookie-less. Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention as part of processing your payment.
