Permet 2 Madrasah

Established in 2024 after the imam's Friday sermons prompted parents to ask for a class for their children. In the far south of Albania, it offers a warm and structured place for 21 pupils to learn.

Opened 2024 in Permet, Albania, for children aged 7 to 15. Classes are held in the village mosque and taught by Migena Deli, one of the teachers supported through Rahma Mercy's madrasah programme in the Balkans.

From Migena Deli's annual report for the Islamic Education Centres of Rahma Mercy, academic year 2025–26: 21 pupils took part in the class.

• 21 on Level 1 of Manhaj an-Nasihah
• 19 learning to read with the Qaida
• 2 studying Tajweed
• 2 reading the Qur'an

£2,700 sponsors the madrasah for the year September 2026 to September 2027. It covers:

• The teacher's wages for the year
• Rent for the classroom, where the madrasah needs one
• A uniform and books for every pupil
• A monthly incentive: €30 a month for the madrasah, which the teacher spends on treats for the children
• End-of-year exams, with prizes for the pupils

£225 covers one month. Sponsor the whole year and the madrasah carries your name on this page, or give any amount and it goes into the same pot.

The Madrasah Vali team visits Permet 2 on the October 2026 trip to hand over the first round of food packs; photographs from that visit are published here afterwards. The teacher's next annual report, covering the sponsored year, follows in summer 2027.

Until then the 2025–26 report is here in full: download the teacher's report (PDF), or see the madrasah's page on Rahma Mercy's site.
